Respiratory Protection

(31 Article)

DENIOS CA presents an array of masks and breathing protection equipment to provide an effective defence against fumes and harmful gases. Our reusable respirator offers lightweight comfort and ease of use, ensuring optimal protection. Work activities often lead to the contamination of the air with hazardous substances, including dust, mist, gas, or fumes. In some instances, workers may also find themselves operating in environments with low oxygen levels, such as confined spaces like chambers or tanks.

Types of Respiratory Protection

PPE - DENIOS

If your work environment poses the risk of exposure to harmful elements like dust, fog, fumes, mists, gases, smokes, vapours, or sprays that can impact workers' health, respiratory protection becomes imperative.

There are two primary types of respiratory protection available. The first type is air-purifying respirators (APRs), which filter out particulates present in the air, including dust and fumes. Some APRs also effectively filter gases and vapours using cartridges.

The second type is supplied-air respirators (SAR), which supply wearers with fresh air from a remote source. SAR options include airline respirators and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) respirators.

Why Respiratory Protection?

DENIOS' breathing protection equipment is specifically designed to shield wearers from hazards associated with airborne contaminants.

Before implementing respiratory protection measures, it is crucial to carefully evaluate whether alternative technical or organizational protective measures can be employed. Consider the following points:

  • Are there any alternatives to the hazardous substance that can be used or completely avoided?

  • Can the release of the hazardous substance be prevented?

  • Is it possible to contain the hazard at its source?

  • Can the activity be carried out in a less hazardous location?

  • Can the pollutant be detected and extracted at its origin, such as through suction?

Only when these measures cannot be successfully implemented should personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection, be employed.
