Overpacks and Salvage Drums

Overpacks and Salvage Drums

Safely contain spills and transport hazardous materials with the use of Overpacks and Salvage Drums. For all your dangerous goods shipping needs, trust DENIOS. Available in steel, our drums range in size from 10 to 95 gallons.

What is an Overpack?

An Overpack is defined in Department of Transportation regulations 49 CFR 171.8 as "an enclosure that is used by a single consignor to provide protection or convenience in handling of a package or to consolidate two or more packages."

Translated this means - an Overpack is a bigger container into which a smaller one may be placed. There are many reasons for this, for example, for protection in shipping, for convenience, or just to consolidate packages.

Disposal Equipment

Plunger cans and spray containers offer the highest degree of safety when using hazardous materials. Dip and wash tanks, and parts cleaner units are perfect for degreasing and cleaning small components. The DENIOS product range also offers you environmentally friendly, solvent-free cleaning.

  • Waste bins and Containers
  • Waste Oil equipment
  • Industrial hoppers and Tilt trucks
  • Stackable and Nesting containers
  • Drum Crusher

The multitude of production wastes requires sophisticated separation and recycling management. Here, DENIOS provides a wide range of containers and waste collection stations. The systems are suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. Because in times of scarce and expensive raw materials the recycling of smaller metal quantities is also worthwhile for operation, a clean separation of residual and recyclable waste is useful and sensible.

What is a Salvage Drum?

Salvage Drum is defined in CA DOT regulations at 49 CFR 173.3 in the following critical ways:

  • Must meet or exceed UN performance requirements and be marked for Packing Group III or higher.

  • Must pass a 3 psi pressure test.

  • May not exceed volume or capacity limits.

  • Must be marked with the specific words "Salvage" or "Salvage Drum".
