Lab Workstations for Hazardous Materials
Configurable table extractors in a modular system for adequate protection and ergonomic working.
Instead of a front slide, displacement flow via a fresh-air curtain ensures maximum safety and freedom of movement when handling hazardous substances at the VARIO-Flow hazardous materials workstation (GAP).

Solutions
In just five steps, your hazardous materials workstation can be planned accordingly.
Step 1: Determine your workspace requirements
Let us help you find the perfect fume hood for your lab. Provide our team with the desired width, depth, and height of your workspace, and we’ll guide you through the appropriate models and configuration options based on your needs.
VARIO-Flow GAP
- 36 Types with different dimensions
- Worktop in stainless steel, stainless steel as a tub with 10mm backsplash, tresp solid core or ceramic
- Base frames and base cabinets for sitting or standing activities
VARIO-Flow GAP Ex

- Equipment including base frame and control box
- Electrical equipment according to Directive 2014/34/EU for use in explosion-proof areas
Step 2: Media connections
Fume hoods can include optional media connections such as electrical outlets, gas, and water supply in addition to the standard grounding connection. Our experts will advise on the best setup for your lab.
Step 3: Work surface material
Choose from four work surface options to meet your operational requirements: stainless steel, stainless steel with 10mm backsplash, Trespa solid core, or ceramic. We can discuss which material is most suitable for your application.
Step 4: Base frame options
Fume hoods can be configured with a standard frame, a base frame for undermount cabinets, or an electrically height-adjustable version. Our team will help you select the right option for your lab workflow.
Step 5: Equipment and accessory options
Enhance your fume hood with additional features, such as recirculating air filters, undercounter cabinets, or windscreens. We’ll work with you to recommend the accessories that best meet your safety and operational requirements.
Advantages
Effective protection
Occupational exposure limits are reliably complied with.
Ergonomics
Barrier-free working thanks to a completely open front.
Targeted exhaust air
No spread of pollutants in the indoor air.
Energy efficiency
The supply air reduces the exhaust air volume.
Reliability
Exhaust air monitoring is installed as standard.
Fume Hood Accessories
If an exhaust air system is already available on site, the VARIO-Flow GAP can be connected to it by the ventilation engineer or specialist personnel. If no exhaust air system is yet in place, various precautions must be taken for installation by the ventilation engineer or qualified personnel.
If there is no exhaust air system yet, recirculation can be implemented very easily and cheaply. A connection to a filter unit is sufficient. The recirculation mode can therefore also be retrofitted. There is no need for an expensive wall breakthrough and elaborate piping for the exhaust air.
VARIO-Flow Filters
- High air volume for powerful extraction
- Effective HEPA and activated carbon filtration
- Easy filter change
Underbench cabinets
- Specially designed cabinets that are installed under work surfaces
- Comply with legal requirements for the storage of hazardous substances
In almost all areas of industry and public service, employees carry out activities with hazardous substances. Without effective pollutant detection, airborne hazardous substances such as dusts and vapours can spread throughout the room, enter the respiratory area and sometimes cause considerable damage to health. Extraction systems capture dusts and vapours directly at the source of danger. They differ in their effectiveness due to different designs.
The VARIO-Flow GAP fume hood provides a secure and ergonomic workspace for handling hazardous materials. Available in 24 sizes with a variety of worktops, media connections, base frames, and accessories, it can be tailored to your lab’s specific needs.
